There is no cure. Medicines can help control some symptoms, but can not delay or stop the disease.

Most people who have successfully stopped smoking would tell you that the best method to quit is putting an abrupt end to smoking. Also known as the cold turkey method, it is nothing but taking a gut decision and stick to it. Sometimes thinking too much about something can be very confusing and disturbing. Cold turkey is simple and effective.

Nicotine replacement therapy is another effective smoking cessation aid. Nicotine patches, chewing gums, inhalers and sprays stimulate the nicotine-like feeling of pleasure, but do not harm you in any way.

Are you ready…?
There are stop smoking aids for you. But are you ready to take the help? That is what matters in your attempt to quit smoking. What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a disease that affects how the body uses glucose, the main type of sugar in the blood. Glucose, which comes in the foods we eat, is the largest source of energy needed to supply the body’s functions. To use glucose, the body needs the hormone insulin. But if someone has diabetes is because your body can not produce insulin or does not work on your body as it should.

There are two main types of diabetes:

* In type 1 diabetes, the immune system attacks and destroys the pancreas cells that produce insulin.
* In type 2 diabetes, the pancreas can still produce insulin but the body does not receive properly. In both types of diabetes, glucose can not enter the cells normally, and the level of blood sugar gets too high. Left untreated, people may become sick due to high levels of blood sugar. Read more
